Siiiiii! We are here! We couldn’t be more excited than to kick off our 1 year journey in Girona, Spain. Pinchos, awesome weather, awesome people, Zara (cannot buy a thing with this backpack travel style 🙁 ), vino tintos, VAMOS!
So far Girona has been amazing. The city seems to have it all; an old, authentic part, a modern city part and to top it all of it is stuffed with professional athletes. For me nice to look at, for Kelvin nice to be around. He is not the odd one out anymore. There are actually more loco’s and they’ve seemed to gather in this city. They even have a sort of home base in the form of ‘La Fabrica’, which serves nice coffee, sweets to go with it and healthy breakfast and lunch. A win win location for me and Kelvin. I am sure they will be seeing a lot of us two the coming 4 weeks.
This is our third day and we are getting into some sort of rhytm. In the mornings I go to spanish class at the Will language school. I did study spanish some years ago and it is really cool to see that some of that knowledge is actually still there and a lot is coming back pretty quick. The afternoons are free and we really like to go out, explore Girona and end up having lunch at some place new. Today we ended up at this place called ‘Nibble’ and had a freshly made and healthy lunch. Normally we have the tendency (not only the tendency, we actually do) to eat whatever whenever when we are on vacation, but for now we chose to be a bit more healthy (a bit. a bit.). Kelvin to take care of his body with all this working out going on, me because I need to be fitting the 2 pairs of jeans (I know…only 2) I have brought along on this trip.
After lunch Kelvin usually has another workout planned so it is time for me to write and, as of today, to workout as well. I found an awesome gym named Punt Groc and today I went for the first time. A little bit scary to go to a new gym with a language you don’t speak really well, but I managed to sign in and they even called me ‘reina’ (queen). 🙂
So lot’s of exploring, working out, writing, learning and eating going on. Life is pretty good right now.
Besitos!
